Rhodamine B is primarily used for coloring paper and cosmetics, and also for making lake pigments and dyeing silk. It is used in the paper industry to dye waxy paper, typing paper, glossy paper, etc.; it reacts with phosphotungstomolybdic acid to form a lake pigment.
