Physical and Chemical Properties: 

The appearance is a black uniform powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, pure benzene and toluene, easily soluble in oleic acid and stearic acid. It has good heat resistance, appears blue-black in ethanol, blue to bluish-black in concentrated sulphuric acid solution, and bluish-black precipitate when diluted. Its aqueous solution forms a brownish-purple precipitate with sodium hydroxide.
